1. Scope
This policy applies to Macker (Chinese name: 方寸), a macOS app provided by 青岛楚岩科技有限公司 (referred to as “we” or “us”). It explains data processing for organizing and launching apps, iCloud sync, trials and in-app purchases. Apps you open through Macker are covered by their own providers’ privacy practices.
2. Data on your Mac
Macker stores or reads the following information locally to display, organize and launch the apps you add:
- Your collection: folder name, app names, bundle identifiers, item identifiers, order and local app paths. Icons and basic app information are read from macOS or app bundles.
- Access permissions: macOS security-scoped bookmarks preserve access to selected apps so you do not have to select them each time. These are permission records, not web browser bookmarks.
- Preferences and sync state: language, Pure Mode, background style, sync preference, a locally generated random sync identifier and sync records. An opaque iCloud account identity hint supplied by macOS is kept locally to detect account changes; we do not use it to read your Apple Account email or password.
- Trial records: the first-use date or Apple-verified original download date, and the most recently recorded run time, used to calculate the trial and prevent clock changes from extending it.
Collections, preferences and sync records are stored in the app’s local sandbox data or preferences. Trial dates are stored in both the local data-protection keychain and preferences. If data cannot be read, Macker may preserve the original file or create a local backup to protect your collection. macOS may migrate data from an earlier version of Macker into the sandbox.
3. How permissions are used
Macker uses the macOS App Sandbox. Read-only access and security-scoped bookmarks for apps you select or drag in are used to read app information, display icons, locate apps and launch them through the system. This permission is not used to modify apps or read documents, conversations or account content within other apps.
The current version has network client permission and iCloud key-value storage capability to support Apple purchase and optional sync services. Macker does not request camera, microphone, contacts, location, screen recording, Accessibility or Full Disk Access permissions. It does not record your activity within other apps or build an analytics history of your app launches.
4. Optional iCloud sync
iCloud sync is off by default. When you enable it in the app, Macker uses Apple’s iCloud key-value storage to merge your collection across Macs using the same Apple Account with sync enabled.
Synced data includes folder and app names, bundle identifiers, item identifiers, order, and the random sync device identifier, logical counters and deletion records needed to merge changes. This identifier is generated by the app; it is not a hardware serial number or advertising identifier.
App binaries, icon files, local file paths, security-scoped bookmarks, trial dates and interface preferences are not synced. Each Mac must locate and obtain access to its own installed apps.
Apple’s iCloud service processes sync data; it does not pass through servers operated by us. Turning sync off stops further syncing on that Mac, but keeps the local collection and existing cloud data. To prevent older devices from restoring removed items, sync records may retain removed apps’ names, identifiers and deletion markers rather than immediately erasing the records. The app pauses sync when it detects an account change and asks you to enable it again.
5. Trial, purchases and restoration
Macker offers a seven-day trial and a one-time, non-consumable unlock through the Apple App Store, not an auto-renewing subscription. The app uses StoreKit to obtain product pricing, the verified original download date and purchase entitlements, and to handle purchases, restoration and entitlement updates following refunds or revocations.
We do not receive your full payment card details, payment password or Apple Account password. Apple handles payment and transaction records. Macker uses Apple’s verification results to determine unlock status and local date records to manage the trial. It does not upload these records to developer-operated servers or include trial records in collection sync. Deleting or reinstalling the app does not guarantee a new trial.
6. Sharing and third-party services
The current version contains no advertising, third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, operates no developer data-collection server and requires no Macker account. We do not sell or rent your collection data, use it for advertising profiles or track you across apps.
When you enable iCloud, purchase or restore a purchase, Apple processes related data under its service terms and Privacy Policy. App Store operations, system diagnostics and analytics you choose to share through system settings are governed by Apple’s policies and settings. Macker has no built-in analytics module.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any screenshots or diagnostic details you choose to attach, solely to handle your inquiry, issue or privacy request. Please do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary personal information.
7. Retention and your choices
- Manage your collection: rename your folder, reorder items or remove apps in Macker. Removing an item does not uninstall the original app. If sync is enabled, changes sync when the service is available.
- Stop syncing: turn off iCloud sync in the app at any time. Turning it off or uninstalling Macker does not automatically request deletion of all iCloud history.
- Local data: data remains until replaced or cleared. The current version has no single control to erase all data. Contact us for guidance on clearing the app container, preferences, backups or trial records. Uninstalling should not be treated as confirmation that every local or system-managed record has been erased.
- Cloud and purchase records: the current app has no control to completely erase all iCloud history. Contact us about available options or use Apple’s account and data-management channels. We cannot directly access or delete your private iCloud data or Apple’s transaction records on your behalf.
- Correspondence: support emails are retained while needed to address your request and necessary follow-up, then deleted when no longer needed, unless retention is required by law.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction or deletion of personal information we actually hold, or exercise other privacy rights. For information held only on your device or in your private iCloud, we will explain the relevant local or Apple management options. We may request reasonable identity verification to protect your information.
8. Security and policy updates
We use the macOS sandbox, read-only permissions, the system keychain and Apple service mechanisms to limit access. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Please protect your Mac and Apple Account.
We will update this policy and its date when features or data practices change. For material changes requiring notice or additional consent, we will provide the relevant notice or seek consent as required by applicable law.
